The Utilities Department consists of two different programs. The City's award-winning drinking water program provides hundreds of thousands of gallons of fresh, treated, safe drinking water to the community every day. Water is provided by the Lewis & Clark Regional Water System, and treated in their plant just north of Vermillion, South Dakota.
The City also operates an award-winning wastewater treatment program out of the Wastewater Treatment Facility on the southwest side of Lennox. This plan is a Class III Sequential Batch Reactor facility, and processes hundreds of thousands of gallons of wastewater each day, releasing it cleaner and safer than the receiving waters of Long Creek.
